Trying to Capture the Surrealness of COVID19
I’m capturing a COVID California in photos to capture the how surreal the quarantine is. I’m letting the pictures speak for themselves to document an odd, troubling time in history.

4. What Can’t Be Captured in Photos during COVID
Capturing a COVID World in Photos doesn’t capture the loneliness, despair, frustration that is going on all around. I had ways to trying to get out of the house, but stay safe and stay sane during the time of Corona in California. And to everyone who lost someone during this horrible pandemic, I can’t even imagine your sense of loss and grief.
Capturing Photos of COVID World and How I Use Them to Stay Sane
So why bother to take photos of this terrible pandemic world at all?
These are historic times. Moments to remind us of what was, what we survived and how, as a world, we made it through quarantine, COVID and everything that went with it. I frame it in the context of “when this is over, we will look back on this…”
I haven’t been blogging as much as I used to, as you can probably tell if you follow the website. Sometimes there just are no words to trying to describe this new world, but the photos capture it all.
And for me, personally, I try to stay present in the moment. If I focus on what used to be, I get depressed. If I focus on the future, which at this point, is still unknown, I get anxious. Mindfulness teaches to be present in the moment, and photography helps me do exactly that.
I am curious to hear how others are coping? Are you trying to create a new normal, or finding ways of holding onto the old world? How has this impacted you, personally? Please share your comments below, or email me at info@wheregalswander.com.
